7 Cary Students Named National Cyber Scholars

Cary, NC — In a nationwide cybersecurity competition, 18 out of 1,165 North Carolina students were named winners, each receiving a $2,500 college scholarship. Of those 18 winners, 7 of them are from Cary with an additional 5 representing Durham or Raleigh.

The Cary winners included students of Cary High School, Green Hope High School and Panther Creek High School.

Public Input Wanted on Chapel Hill Road this Wednesday

Cary, NC — This Wednesday from 5:30-7 PM, all citizens have the opportunity to hear about the Chapel Hill Road Study and upcoming changes to the street width in the Downtown Corridor.

Town Council Approves Rezoning 5-2, Discusses Redistricting

Cary, NC — Since the Town Council had not met in a public, televised meeting in a full month, there was much to discuss in the most recent one, held on Thursday, May 27.

Topics included the appointment of a new Town Attorney, the official adoption of Juneteeth as a Town Holiday and several proposed developments.

The vote of the night that was not unanimous was the vote which approved, 5-2, the Twin Lakes proposed which will allow apartments to be built on land initially zoned for retail and office space.
